Administrative / biographical background:

Opened in 1836 at Over Lane (now High Street) by the Wesleyan Association, which became part of the United Free Methodist Church in 1857, and of the United Methodist Church in 1907. Rebuilt in 1877 as St. Paul’s Church. Closed in 1975 and replaced by Winsford St. Andrew’s.
